Huawei Introduces Revolutionary Green-Energy Solutions

Chinese technology company Huawei has debuted revolutionary renewable-energy solutions with the potential to redefine the global photovoltaic (PV) solar as well as energy-storage sectors. Steven Zheng, president of Huawei’s Utility Smart ESS Business, recently unveiled the renewable energy sector’s first ever Cell-to-Grid Smart String & Grid-Forming ESS Platform.

Set on accelerating the world’s journey to carbon neutrality and providing value to industries and customers, Huawei created the Smart Renewable Energy Generator by integrating energy-storage management technologies, thermal management, digital and power electronics. The company harnessed all the technological advancements it has made in grid forming technologies, energy-storage systems (ESSs) and PV modules to aid the development of power systems that run on renewable energy.

This groundbreaking platform features grid-forming technology that provides enhanced grid-forming capabilities, safety, digitization and cost effectiveness, opening the door to the creation of sustainable power plants alongside relevant partners. It represents a significant milestone in the green-energy sector due to its ability to improve the integration and consumption of green energy and has already demonstrated positive results.

This grid-Forming ESS platform has shown that it can increase green energy output in certain projects by up to 40%, allowing project operators to cut their long-term operating costs by a substantial amount. Lower operational costs will be key to attracting investors to renewable projects and accelerating the integration of clean energy, such as solar and wind, into energy grids.

Huawei’s new platform will most likely draw the attention of major companies operating in the green-energy space. Dozens of countries have pledged to phase out fossil fuels from their energy mixes, and many have strict timelines for achieving some level of carbon neutrality that are swiftly approaching. The platform could be instrumental in helping these countries accelerate the generation and integration of clean energy into their grids.

The Smart Renewable Energy Generator Solution will address common challenges in utility plants and drive clean-energy generation via photovoltaic solar panels toward grid energy. Led by Steven Zhou, president of the Utility Smart PV Business, the solution combines ESS, PV, grid, load and management systems to address green-energy development challenges, boost the integration of green energy into energy grids and create new power facility efficiency standards.

In the meantime, Huawei has collaborated with several projects including a Saudi Arabian microgrid, string grid-forming energy-storage plants in its home country, and the Kela PV Project in Sichuan as part of its efforts to boost green-energy innovation and lead the pack in the race to develop high-quality, autonomous power plants of utility scale.

The revolutionary system debuted by Huawei comes at a time when other enterprises such as Correlate Energy Corp. (OTCQB: CIPI) are also investing heavily in bringing new solutions to the clean-energy space so that the transition to green energy happens cost effectively, not only in the developed world but also in less-developed communities.
